TODAY’S NOTICES


1. THE RETIRING OFFERING after today’s services is for Leprosy Mission International.
2. CHRISTIAN AID: The recent Coffee Morning, along with the Quiz Sheets, donations and the Sunflower Competition, raised £963.55. The Bridge Cross raised £1,041. We will let you know the total raised by Gift Envelopes ASAP.
3. BOYS’ BRIGADE: Please remember to support the BB through Asda tokens.
4. FALKIRK FOODBANK needs UHT and dried milk, cartons of juice (not needing kept cool); tinned vegetables, meat, fish, fruit; biscuits & snacks. Boxes are in the Vestibule and at the door to the Hall.
5. DOING MORE WITH DONATIONS: Gift Aid envelopes are in the Vestibule/on pews. Visitors wishing us to reclaim tax can fill in details on the envelope. Buying online? Try easyfundraising.org.uk, click ‘how it works’; then Support a Good Cause. Larbert East Church is registered.


NOTICES FOR THE COMING WEEK:

6. THE DISCUSSION GROUPS meet this week: the Wednesday Group on 7th June at 2pm at 8 McLachlan Street; the Thursday Group on 8th June at 7.30pm in the Small Hall. They continue looking at Psalms ‘Prayers of the Heart’. All welcome.
7. PASTORAL CARE TEAM meets this Wednesday 7th June at 7.00pm in the Small Hall.
8. LARBERT CHURCHES YOUTH TRUST AGM is this Friday 9th June in Airth Church at 7pm. This year the ‘business’ will be shorter so we hear more of the wonderful input of Schools Workers Mike Glass and Gregor McKay through first-hand stories of some of the young people with whom they work. There will be tea/coffee and baking after the meeting. Please do go along and support the work of LCYT.

11. CAR BOOT SALE will be held in the car park on Saturday 24th June 10am – 12noon. Sellers must register and pay entry fee, £10 per car, by Saturday 17th June, non refundable. To register, please get in touch with Irene Railton. Even if you are not selling, please do come along and support the event. Entrance is £2 which includes tea/coffee with a biscuit. Children free. Flyers are available from the Vestibule table. There will be a short meeting in the Hall after next Sunday’s service for those helping on the day.
12. THE SUMMER SUNDAY CLUB for 3-12-year-olds this year runs for 8 Sundays from 2nd July to 20th August. We need a leader and 2 helpers for each Sunday (all PVG checked). If you can help for just one Sunday, please add your name to the list at the Traidcraft Stall after the service. Thank you.
13. WEEKDAY WORSHIP resumes 7th September at 11.15am.

14. MUSIC FOR A SUMMER EVENING: Dunblane Cathedral Handbell Ensembles celebrate their 40th anniversary Concert on Sunday 11th June at 7.30pm in Dunblane Cathedral. Tickets are £8 (£5 concession, children free) available from Melville and Irene, or at the door on the night. There will be tea/coffee after the concert.
15. BARBERSHOP MUSIC BONANZA: Pacific Coast Sound and Sweet Harmony are holding a concert in the Dobbie Hall on Friday 16th June at 7.30pm. Tickets price £10 (include a light buffet) are available from Bill Morris.
16. SOME GOOD NEWS! Our former Auxiliary Minister, Lorna MacDougall, now trained for full-time ministry, has been elected as the new minister of Overtown Parish Church near Wishaw. Her induction will be on Thursday 29th June at 7pm. She would be delighted to see friends from Larbert East attending.


NEXT SUNDAY’S SERVICE:

Next Sunday the Morning Service at 10.30am will be led by Melville when we continue the theme, ‘Swept Away’.

The Young Church and Crèche meet as usual before the service (see Regular Notices to the right of this page). There will be tea/coffee and biscuits in the Hall after the service. The Traidcraft Stall will also be in the Hall.
