TODAY’S NOTICES


1. CHRISTIAN AID: Thank you to all who supported the COFFEE MORNING by coming along or helping in any way. The total will be given ASAP. BRIDGE CROSS: Thank you to the walkers and sponsors who contributed to the walk. The total raised was £1,041. GIFT ENVELOPES can be put in the offering plate this morning or next week. CHILDREN’S SUNFLOWER COMPETITION: Our young people can buy a sunflower for £1 from the Large Hall today. The person growing the tallest sunflower will receive a small prize in the Autumn.
2. LOST PROPERTY: There is an ever-increasing quantity of lost property at the back of the Church behind the sound desk e.g. gloves, glasses, scarves etc. If you have lost anything over the last few months, please can you have a look and claim any item that is yours as anything remaining by the end of June will be given away. Thank you.
3. BOYS’ BRIGADE: Please remember to support the BB through Asda tokens.
4. FALKIRK FOODBANK needs UHT and dried milk, cartons of juice (not needing kept cool); tinned vegetables, meat, fish, fruit; biscuits & snacks. Boxes are in the Vestibule and at the door to the Hall.
5. DOING MORE WITH DONATIONS: Gift Aid envelopes are in the Vestibule/on pews. Visitors wishing us to reclaim tax can fill in details on the envelope. Buying online? Try easyfundraising.org.uk, click ‘how it works’; then Support a Good Cause. Larbert East Church is registered.


NOTICES FOR THE COMING WEEK:

6. DOWN MEMORY LANE: We hope to establish a Memories Project in the Church, under Sports Heritage Scotland Memories. It is mainly for older people to come for an hour or so, browse through old photographs and view a wide selection of videos. Tea/ coffee and biscuits will be provided so people can meet and discuss their memories. The next meeting will be this Wednesday 24th May in the Large Hall at 2pm. Guest Speaker: Russell McGillivray. 7. THE DISCUSSION GROUPS meet this week: Monday Group 7.30pm 36 Aitchison Drive; Wednesday Group 2pm 8 McLachlan Street; Thursday Group 7.30pm Small Hall.
8. STENHOUSEMUIR PRIMARY SCHOOL COFFEE MORNING will be held this Thursday 25th May at 10.45am just before Weekday Worship. Please come along to support the children. All donations to school funds.
9. WEEKDAY WORSHIP this Thursday 25th May is at 11.15am and will be led by our own Alex Grant. All welcome.

12. ‘POP-UP’ PENTECOST is an Outreach Event organised by Falkirk Presbytery in the Howgate. There will be a labyrinth (for prayer and reflection) on Thursday 1st June from 12noon until 4pm and on Friday 2nd June from 11am until 3pm. On Saturday 3rd June there will be crafts/games/music/stories in the grounds of Falkirk Trinity Church (inside if bad weather) 11am-3pm. Larbert East has a craft table and would be grateful for helpers that day. Even an hour helps! Please see Kate Duncan or Sheila Summers.
13. CAR BOOT SALE: Saturday 24th June 2017, 10:00am - 12 noon.

14. BARBERSHOP MUSIC BONANZA: Pacific Coast Sound and Sweet Harmony are holding a concert in the Dobbie Hall on Friday 16th June at 7.30pm. Tickets price £10 (include a light buffet) are available from Bill Morris.


NEXT SUNDAY’S SERVICES

Next Sunday the service at 10.30am will be conducted by Melville, when we conclude our theme ‘Word of Life’.

The Young Church and Crèche meet as usual before the service (see Regular Notices to the right of this page). There will be tea/coffee and biscuits in the Hall after the service. The Traidcraft Stall will also be in the Hall. Please join us next Sunday.

eLECt – The next service will be in the Village Tearoom in Stenhousemuir Precinct next Sunday 28th May at 3pm. All welcome: bring along your friends and their children!
