Week beginning 9th December 2018


1. THE CHRISTMAS COFFEE MORNING last week raised £1447.20. Thank you to all who helped or came along to support it.
2. DEACONS: Please uplift FWO Envelopes from the stage in the Large Hall for delivery. Thank you.
3. REFUGEE AID: A huge thank you to everyone who donated. Everything will help to make life easier for the families who arrived here with next to nothing.
4. FALKIRK FOODBANK: need UHT & dried milk, cartons of juice; tinned vegetables, meat, fish, fruit; biscuits, snacks. Gents & ladies’ toiletries; sanitary products, bedding, children’s clothes, cleaning materials, soap powder. Demand for the Foodbank has now increased by 18% in Scotland. Boxes in the Vestibule and at the door to the Hall. Thank you.
5. DUNBLANE CATHEDRAL HANDBELL RINGERS ENSEMBLE present their Christmas concert, featuring ‘Sweet Harmony’, in the Cathedral this evening at 7.30pm. Tickets are £8 (£5 concession) from Melville.


6. KINNAIRD PRIMARY Christmas Service is this Tuesday 11th December in the school at 1.30pm. Sadly, no room for parents, but please pray for the service!
7. WOMAN’S GROUP meets for Afternoon Tea at Torwood on Tuesday 11th December at 1.00pm.
8. MEMORIES GROUP next meet on Wednesday 12th December in the Large Hall at 2.00pm when Sweet Harmony will provide Musical Entertainment.
9. SANCTUARY FIRST CAROLS FOR MARIE CURIE: Our first ‘live-streamed’ event with ‘Sanctuary First’ will be this Thursday 13th December at 7pm: traditional carols, music from the choir and other musicians, Christmas ‘drama’ on the theme ‘Christmas Round the World’. Melville and Very Rev Albert Bogle will lead the service. Tea/coffee, mince pies/ shortbread in the Hall to follow. Entry is by donation – proceeds to Marie Curie.

Next Sunday we continue our Advent theme, ‘One World, One Christmas’. The service at 10.30am will be conducted by Melville and John.

The Young Church and Creche meet as usual (see Regular Notices to the right of this page). There will be tea/coffee and biscuits in the Hall after the service.
